After a few different animal pieces, I decided to mix things up with a new attempt at a landscape that I've worked at a couple times already. This piece was also my first stab at painting in a few weeks, so it was definitely an exercise in shaking off some rust.
The result was not so great. It was a good palette, oranges and yellows countered with turquoise-grays. But the execution...not so much. And guess what -- THAT's OK. Every painting, even the ones that never reach frame-worthy status, is a lesson. The only failure is if I haven't learned during my time at the easel.
